Our First Intra-Club Event Belongs to History

Dear members,

we were trying to arrange a friendly club live match during the whole weekend, but we didn't get lucky with that due to a technical issue. However, this gave us a chance to create a last moment Arena Tournament where surprisingly, enough members participated (thank you all who did.. I hope you really got something useful out of it)!

Last week this endeavour failed badly, but the second attempt proved a success! That's why we plan on having an intra-club Arena every Sunday around the same time (17:00 UTC).

I remind you that the games won't be rated, since this event will be staged for practice/training purposes, so that we all can have the opportunity to try new openings, tactics, strategies etc. Experienced players of higher Elo rating will have the chance to keep fit by facing beginners, but could also suggest tips to our more inexperienced members. On the other hand, players of low Elo rating will have the chance to "safely" (without losing any points) face stronger opponents, and by practice they could become better over time.

No matter your rating, don't forget to analyse your games and learn from your mistakes!!

You can access information and games' scoresheets on past Live tournaments, through selecting the option "Live tournaments", which you can find within the top right panel of our club (see relevant screenshot).

Note: The Arena will once more be of 90mins duration with games of 10|2 time control. Also, from now on, will be named WoLC Arena 10|2.

By the way Congratulations @KostasMouridis for winning our first ever intra-club event!!!!

Of course we should also congratulate @nikos8109 & @blackbishop71 for coming to second and third place respectively (..they both beat me by the way )
