I'm going to post chess problems composed by Vladimir Nabokov and published in his book "Poems and Problems". The one you see below was composed in Paris, mid-May 1940 (just before the Nazi invasion, the picture displays Paris in the thirties). Nabokov himself described this problem as "the irresistible try for the bafflement of sophisticated solvers."

Mate in 2 moves. I'll post the solution and another problem next week.
