Below you see the solution to the Problem 1 published last week.
The next chess problem was composed by Vladimir Nabokov in Montreux, Switzerland, March 1, 1965 (the picture was made in Montreux too). He says about the problem: "In this miniature a rather blunt key is redeemed by the variations and tries. The two model mates, rank and file, echo each other. The problem is not quite as easy as it seems at the first blush."
