Polar Post: Arctic matches!

I thought that, for my monthly post, I would raise awareness to you wonderful people about the dying poles. I saw a very disturbing article recently that truly highlighted how destructive the warming of the earth is. The article is about Antarctica which is huge, but still rapidly decreasing. A big section of ice has drifted free of the Larsen C ice shelf. What a devastating wake up call for us all!

The Antarctic has become a third of its original size since global warming. It means that penguins have further to swim to get to land to breed, and sometimes whole breeding sites, for Emperor penguins especially, disappear. Take action now, whether you are the government or a citizen!

Meanwhile the Arctic is under even greater threat. The film Happy Feet 2 has the plot of the Arctic fully melting which exterminates the native species like polar bears and puffins. Whilst it being a film, it does give us an idea of the future if we don't act soon.
