Punjab Open Grand Prix- April 2020
Punjab Open Blitz Grand Prix Series- April 2020:
Chess Association of Punjab (CAP) announce online Grand Prix series of blitz chess events in the month of April 2020. Prize money amounting to Rs. 25,000 is guaranteed which shall be distributed among top 10 winners of the Grand Prix series.
Rules of the tournament:
a) Punjab Open Grand Prix – series shall be comprising of 10 tournaments for the month of April, 2020. Detail of tournaments is as under:
i) 3 Blitz events as per announced schedule having time control of 3-0 (with Berserk)
ii) 3 Blitz events as per announced schedule having time control of 3-0 (without Berserk)
iii) 2 Blitz events as per announced schedule having time control of 2-1sec
iv) 2 Bullet events a per announced schedule having time control of 1-0
b) The Grand Prix points for each event shall be awarded as under:
Winner will get 10 points, Second 9 points, Third 8 points and so on 10th position will get 1 Grand Prix point.
c) Player scoring the highest Grand Prix points shall be declared the winner.
d) In case of equal Grand Prix points the position shall be decided upon
a. Buchholz Score of the last match
b. Median Buchholz of last match.
Prizes
a) Prizes amounting to Rs. 25,000/- shall be delivered to top 10 position holders via online transfer. The prizes shall be awarded as under: 1st Rs. 8,000 2nd Rs. 5,000 3rd Rs. 3,000 4th Rs. 2,000 5th Rs. 1,500 6th 1,500, 7th 1,000 8th 1,000 9th 1,000 10th 1,000.
b) In case of equal Grand Prix points prize money shall be shared equally.
c) Any online transfer charges shall be beard by the prize winner and deductible from the prize.
Entry Fee
a) Rs. 50/- shall be the entry fee for each event. You can register for the all events at one time by depositing Rs. 500/-
b) Free entry for Junior Players under the age of 16(upon submitting proof) and women.

c) Entry fee is non-refundable
General
a) The events are only for the group members of Chess Association of Punjab at https://lichess.org
b) New registration for the group can be made at https://lichess.org/team/chess-association-of-punjab
c) Chess Association of Punjab has a fair game policy and have 0 tolerance against cheating/use of computer software and chess engines. Kindly report immediately to the admin and a committee comprising of i) Amer Karim ii) Muhammad Waqar iii) Nadeem Raja iv) Shahzeb under the chairmanship of Hanif Qureshi, President Chess Association of Punjab shall decide the matter. The decision of the committee shall be final.
d) Chess Association of Punjab has the right of change of date and time of a pre-announced schedule.
e) Every participant shall be required to submit a statement before start of tournament i.e “I ___ (mention your name) hereby solemnly declare that I will not use any assistance including Human, computer software, chess engine or any other type during the whole Grand Prix series. Players not disclosing their identity i.e. original Name, place, Cell Number or any other information which is required by the admin shall not be entitled to participate.
e) Sports man spirit at the highest level is expected from the players.
f) If you have any suggestion in this regard then share it in private so that the same may be considered in the future events.
