Semiahmoo Open Chess Tournament 2018

Hi everyone! No doubt your wondering when the next big local chess tournament will take place, and I have the answer. For the second year running, new organizer Jeffrey Street will partner with the Victoria Chess Club to bring us a world-class chess tournament in beautiful White Rock (Surrey), BC. This will be a standard six-round CFC rated event, with a free blitz tournament on the side! I give you the deets, courtesy of the tournament website:
When: August 4-6, 2018 (BC Day long weekend)
Where: Pacific Inn Resort (the big pink one) @ 1160 King George Blvd., Surrey
Entry Fee: $65 (if paid by May 31); $75 (if paid by June 30); $85 (if paid by July 31); or $100 if you wait to register on site
Format: There will be 4 or 5 rating sections depending on the number of participants; see website for details; 90 minutes + 30 seconds time control; six round Swiss
Prizes: The prize fund will vary based on number of participants; winners of all rating sections and blitz side tournament will receive cash prizes
