Open Section: Open to players USCF rated 2000 or above. Open section is FIDE rated and USCF Rated, but uses FIDE playing rules. Play up is only allowed for 1800+, $10 extra to play up.
GM/IM/WGM/WIM receive free entry without prize deduction if registered before 7/13. Please email chessclubsanjose@gmail.com to enter.
Reserve Section: Open to USCF 1500-2000. Play up is only allowed for 1300+, $10 extra to play up.
Booster Section: Open to USCF u1500.
ALL : 5SS, G/90; 30 second increment. Rds. Sat 7/24: 9:30 am, 2:00 pm, 6:30 pm, Sun 7/25: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Early online registration before 7/24 is $100, afterwards it will be $120. Registration will close at Friday noon. There will be no onsite registration. USCF rules/ratings used to award prizes, pairing purposes. All players must have a valid, active USCF membership to play. Max 2 half-point byes allowed. Any additional will be 0-point byes. Byes for the last round must be declared before the start of the tournament.

$4,400 based on 80 fully paid entries. Under prizes based on July USCF Published Rating
Open Section = 1st: $1000, 2nd: $500, 3rd: $300, Top U2200, $200.
Reserve Section (1500-2000) = 1st: $700, 2nd: $400, 3rd: $250, Top U1700: $200
Reserve Section (u1500) = 1st: $400, 2nd: $200, 3rd: $150, Top unrated: $100

COVID-19 procedures: To ensure safety we will require all players to wear a mask at all times. We will also provide latex gloves to anyone who wants them. After each round the boards, tables, and seats will be sanitized. Pairings and Standings will be posted online.
Boards are provided, but players should bring clocks!
