Greetings Chess Players!

This announcement is for the 4th annual Stephen Sosnick Memorial Chess Festival on April 4-6 at the cozy UC Davis Convention Center. It is an over-the-board (face-to-face) tournament and requires a current US chess membership.

Advance entries have poured in and we expect a record turnout for this event. Can we reach 100 players? Sign up now and spread the word to other chess enthusiasts young and old! The late fee kicks in after March 30.

Popular Grandmaster Joel Benjamin will entertain the crowd all weekend. Seats are still available for his simul on Friday evening. Ask him about his stunning victory against the computer engine Stockfish in an odds match.

The format remains the same as previous years. Players may attend 1, 2 or all 3 days.

* Friday evening Grandmaster simul (check-in by 6:45)
* Saturday tournament: 5 rounds G/30 + 10 sec increment (USCF regular rated)
* Sunday tournament: 7 rounds G/15 + 10 sec increment (USCF quick rated)
* Extras: free GM lectures at lunch plus game analysis, puzzle contest, food truck
* All events at UC Davis Convention Center at 550 Alumni Lane. Free parking on weekend.
