Stonewall: Beat 2000+ rated players with this simple system
Hello club mates,
I've made this not only to popularize the amateurish opening "Stonewall" but to generally help our club do better in our own games and future matches. (Hang on, wait up, did I say amateurish opening? Yes -- it is an opening for amateurs and novice players but one shouldn't underestimate this opening as any mishap and incorrect assessment or planning could lead to a lot of errors for black, especially in blitz/ bullet games (even titled players would fall into this due to time trouble).
The Stonewall is characterized by white's pawn formation on b2, c3, d4, e3, f4 (in most cases the f4 pawn moves to e5, recapturing the knight there)
The Stonewall opening had helped me reach 1800 FIDE rating and win even IMs / FMs in over-the-board (OTB) blitz tournaments in the past. SG National Blitz 2010.
If this doesn't catch your attention, I'm not sure what will. So let's begin by looking at some games with annotations not by an engine but by a mere human, (by myself! feel free to correct any errors or dubious moves which you may find):
