Structure One World League

The ONE WORLD League is primarily an annual round-robin tournament. It includes divisions at different rating ranges (OPEN rating, Under 1800, Under 1600, and Under 1400) and with matches on anywhere from 12 to 50+ boards.

• OPEN50+
  The OPEN50+ will be the TOP division in our second season (starting in March 2019). The first three teams from the OPEN50 will promote and we'll invite the finalists of the GRAND PRIX and the three first-placed clubs in the 1stTOUR as well.

• OPEN50
  The OPEN50 is the TOP division in our ongoing first season. The top three teams will promote to the OPEN50+, the bottom three will relegate to the OPEN25.

• OPEN25
  The OPEN 25 is the main division of our league. In the first season teams are playing in two subdivisions of 10 teams each. The top three teams in each subdivision will promote to the OPEN50, while the bottom three will relegate to the OPEN12.

• OPEN12
  The OPEN 12 is the basic division of our league. In the first season there are two subdivisions with sixteen teams (and a Warm-up tournament with six others). Five teams will promote to the OPEN25.

• U18-25+
  The U18-25+ will be the Under 1800 TOP division in the second season of the ONE WORLD League. Six teams are playing already in a Warm-up tournament. Six teams from the U18-25 subdivisions will be promoted to the U18-25+.

• U18-25
  The U18-25 is the Under 1800 main division. In the first season there are two subdivisions. Six teams will promote to the U18-25+, while six others will relegate to the U18-12.

• U18-12
  The U18-12 is the Under 1800 basic division. Six teams are currently playing in a Warm-up tournament. Six teams from the U18-25 will relegate to this division.

• U16 and U14
  Divisions in the U16 and U14 categories will have the same structure, but probably less teams than the U18.

  In addition to the league, we offer some other tournaments:

• GRAND PRIX
  The GRAND PRIX is the TOP tournament of the league. In our first season it's played on 50+ boards. Modifications for the second season will be announced later on.

• 960 MASTERS and 960 CANDIDATES
  Our Chess960 divisons are played as seven round Swiss-system tournaments with new matches all two and half month. The last four of the twelve clubs in the 960 MASTERS will relegate to the future 960 CHALLENGERS division. The winner of the the 960 CANDIDATES will promote to the 960 MASTERS, while the second to fifth placed clubs will promote to the 960 CHALLENGERS.

• TOUR Series
  The TOUR Series is an open tournament without a minimum or maximum number of players. Clubs will be placed by their proven strength. The clubs in the 1stTOUR are playing in this season to be invited to the OPEN50+. You'll find more details in the TOUR Series forum.

• U15-CUP and U14-960CUP
  The U15-CUP is an annual tournament with team matches rated Under 1500. You'll find more information in the U15-CUP forum. The U14-960CUP is an annual Chess960 tournament with team matches rated Under 1400. Registration is open until the November 30.

• BLITZ CUP
  The BLITZ CUP will be the first Live tournament in the ONE WORLD League. Registration is open until September 30.

• VOTE:3
  is the Vote Chess division in the league. In our first season 36 clubs are playing to determine their placements in the next season. The upper half of each subdivision will then play in subdivisions of the 1stVOTE, while the lower half will play in subdivisions of the 2ndVOTE.
