Austin and Eric are still embattled for the top spot in Niowave games II. The site doesn't officially support overtime, but we couldn't allow it to be undecided. Those games are very excited and can be found here.

Austin v. Eric
Eric is up two pawns, doubled up on an open file, in an otherwise very disconnected and somewhat draw-ish position. Who's endgame technique will carry the day?

Eric v. Austin
Material is equal in this one. The position is very sharp with both players threatening mate and causing complications for the other. This one is a real tactical shoot out and the balance could tip very suddenly!

72% of games in Niowave Games III are now complete. Group 1 is decided with all three participants advancing to the next round due to a tie for 2nd place. Group 2 is drawing to a
close with Eric clinching a spot and the second spot still up for grabs between Lubna and myself. Unfortunately for Kasey, Lubna and I can't BOTH finish with fewer than 2.5 points and so one of us will overtake him. If I lose to Lubna, I'll need 1.5 points against Eric to clinch the second spot.

In the most recent tournament, and the first since the club name change, Rookery Games I Group 2 is complete with Eric and Nathaniel advancing. Group 1 drawing to a close with each player still playing two games. Currently I'm in the lead with Lubna in second. Jenny could still advance if she plays well in both her remaining games, or if she beats Lubna, and Lubna loses to me.

The club match against club yankee is effectively over and victory has been declared in our favor as our opponents can no longer score enough points to overtake us. Nathaniel, Ade and I are still playing some games in that match so feel free to check on those to see by just how much we will win. I put an open seek out there for another match, and club yankee accepted it again; apparently eager for a rematch. join that here if you're interested: https://www.chess.com/club/matches/the-rookery/1533637

Finally, don't forget to login for the swiss tournament on the 22nd. There will be 5 rounds of 15|10 chess. It should be very exciting! The link to join (which will open at 7pm on the day of the tournament) is right here: https://www.chess.com/play/tournament/4279419
