Swiss tournament!
All,
I'm trying a little something different this time. I have scheduled an online swiss style rapid tournament. The link to join is here. However, you can't join until an hour before the event begins, so add it to your google calendar or similar so that you don't forget!
You will play one opponent each round, the time control is 15 minutes plus a 10 second increment. The tournament is a maximum of 5 rounds so I expect it to last 2.5 hours. The tournament will start at 8pm on Friday the 22nd of September. Do not feel obligated to join, but I think it'll be a lot of fun.
If there's interest I can set up a discord room or similar for people to chat and so on. I would also like to set up an in-person event similar to this sometime in the future so be sure to let me know if you're interested in that as well.
Again, here is the link to the tournament:

Click that link and join starting at 7pm on Friday September 22.
FAQ:
Q: Do I lose points if I only participate in some of the rounds?
A: No. You can withdraw from the tournament at any time and not lose points or rating for un-played rounds. However, you cannot win points for games you don't play for obvious reasons.
Q: How does pairing work?
A: It follows a kind of involved algorithm, but the short version is that in the first round you play someone based on your rapid rating, and in subsequent rounds you play someone with the same number of points as you in the tournament so far.
