Summer OTB Dash for Cash Tournaments - 2022
Cincinnati Scholastic Chess presents the second annual
SUMMER OTB DASH FOR CASH
This is a three-tournament series played outdoors that will pay cash prizes to winners at each tournament and to those who score the most points cumulatively in all three tournaments. Players may play in any one or two tournaments or in all three.

All sections are USCF rated and require a current USCF membership. Official USCF Regular ratings will be used in each tournament as follows: as of July 1 for the July tournaments and as of August 1 for the August tournament. Unofficial ratings, if available, will be used for players who are officially unrated.
Tournament Structure and Schedule (all dates)
Swiss tournament, four rounds, time control G/60;d5
Round times: 11:15 am, 1:30 pm, 3:45 pm, 6:00 pm
Prizes
For each tournament: Cash prizes will total 70% of paid entries SEPARATELY FOR EACH SECTION and may include a combination of place and under prizes in each section. Prizes will be split among winners with tied scores.
Cumulative: 5% of all paid entries will go into a bonus pool, which will be paid to the top three cumulative scores for the series, regardless of section, in prizes of 2.5%, 1.5% and 1.0%. Prizes will be split among winners with tied scores. A perfect score is 12.0 points.
Overall 75% of all paid entries will be paid out in prizes! To clarify: In each tournament, prizes for each section are determined by the entries paid for only that section. A section with more paid entries might have more and/or larger prizes. The bonus pool is calculated regardless of section; bonus prize amounts will be based on all paid entries in both sections across all three tournaments. The bonus prize winners could all come from one section.
Entry
Enter online at www.chesscincinnati.com/summer-otb/. The entry fee for each tournament is $48.
Entry deadline is noon on the day before each tournament:
• Friday, July 8 for the July 9 tournament
• Saturday, July 23 for the July 24 tournament
• Saturday, August 6 for the August 7 tournament
A player’s entry fee will be refunded if notice of withdrawal is received before the tournament’s entry deadline. Refunds are subject to a processing fee of $2.00.
Other details
Players may take an optional half-point bye for any round but must commit to it by 1:00 pm on the day of the tournament. Request a bye on the entry form, by email to info@chesscincinnati.com, or onsite before 1:00 pm.
Players may play up. Players may change sections until but not after the tournament’s entry deadline. Players should bring sets and clocks.
