Super Six Results & Season 10 Awards!
Hola, amigos y amigas, bloggers, and members of BlogChamps ![]()
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I would like to start by thanking all 6 competitors for their blogs done before the deadline! This was a wonderful round with great reads! Unfortunately, half of you will have to be eliminated, leaving 3 bloggers to fight for Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
Dear judges @Alina_Bakhtina_24, @PokeGirl93, @KevinSmithIdiot, @JustGettingThisOffMyChess, @nbrasington, and @ChocoCaramelPawn worked hard for the fairest and fastest verdict. Let's thank them for spending their time reading and rating all entries.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is time to get into results! Below, you will be able to see a summary of every match-up and their decisions. The comments in the announcement will focus on the positive aspects, and more detailed feedback for each blog will be posted in a separate forum.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*VOB's note: The score of all three matches was 4-2, which just proves how hard the decisions were and that, in fact, all bloggers deserved to advance. Congrats!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Group A - nova-stone vs. WinT0L0ss
@nova-stone wrote about an incident involving two top players in the 1990s, whose long-standing friendship ended because of a single chess move. Do you think this curious fact sounds absurd or illogical? Well, the only way to find out is to check out the story and form your own opinion. Have fun and enjoy the reading! - The Move that Ended a Friendship
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@WinT0L0ss shared some fantastic social initiatives involving chess with his readers. This amazing blog tells the story of how our beloved game can change people's lives around the world, whether in remote places in Africa, with autistic children, in prisons, or even at his own school. A very pleasant read that will certainly touch you! - Pieces that Move Mountains

How will he perform against his high Elo opponents, and what did he think about the event? Check it out! - I played the 133rd Minnesota Open!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@Mmm_Goat_Milk pointed out some striking similarities between chess and curling, one of the most popular sports in the Winter Olympics. Check out his amazing blog to find out more about what the two have in common and why the chess community would probably find it so relatable. Group C - DocSimooo vs. HornetCruise
@DocSimooo discussed chess and ethology, a field of science that studies the behavior and social organization of animals, and made pretty interesting parallels between the two worlds, mentioning how some of the opening lines and main principles of the game find their perfect counterparts in wildlife. Enjoy! - Ethology and Chess: Two, Yet Not Two
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@HornetCruise decided to bring a very interesting discussion about how paranoia affects not only our own games of chess, but also how much even the professional chess world can be influenced by it. With some great research and scientific background, learn with him how this problem could be minimized. A very interesting article! - Paranoia Is Changing The Way We Play Chess

Big Congratulations to the three qualified users! You have successfully arrived in the Top 3 bloggers of the season, guaranteeing a medal and a chance to fight for the biggest glory! All your hard work and amazing blogs paid off! Now it is time to prepare for the final Blog Bowl battle and aim for the prizes!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also, a brief message to those who didn't qualify: you did an outstanding job! Out of 83 bloggers, you 3 have reached the pre-final stage, which is a huge achievement by itself! All eliminated blogs could easily be in the next round, but the rules only allowed us to pick one. We hope you come back even stronger in Season 11! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you are qualified, please confirm your participation in the Blog Bowl by writing a short comment in this announcement, or send @ChocoCaramelPawn or @VOB96 a DM. Below is the link to the closed forum with the detailed feedback to all 6 blogs. As always, feel free to drop me a DM if you need more details or tips:

SEASON 10 AWARDS

Now it is time to award the best blogs and bloggers of this season in 17 different categories! This is a tradition in BlogChamps, revived by @AstroTheoretical_Physics in Season 6. The categories are:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- The eleven awards given in the Blogger Awards v2.0.
- Five extra season-specific awards.
- The People's Choice Award for Best Blog.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also, for all the categories except for the last one, each medalist is only chosen by me and @VOB96. You can call this approach undemocratic, but it would have taken a lot of time for all 6 judges to vote. We understand that you may not agree with our decisions, but let's not forget that this competition is just for fun.

BLOG BOWL KICKOFF
Now the final match begins! This is the big moment when we decide who gets the bronze and silver medals, as well as the coveted Zachary Isaac Snow II Trophy! You are one blog away from being crowned the champion of the blogger universe, achieving a Top Blogger recommendation from @VOB96, a mega incredible prize of US$25, and a one-month premium membership!

Your mission is to write the best blog you can, and the judges will decide who comes first, second, and third!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The rules are simple:
• You have until March 25th, 23:59 EST (Eastern Standard Time) to submit your blog in the following forum: Submission Forum - Season 10 Blog Bowl
• We are giving you 15 days. Make sure you submit before the deadline. If you can't, message us and we will try to solve the problem, but only if strictly necessary. The rules for delayed submissions are still valid.
• As always, please do not forfeit. The fact that you are in the top 3 does not give you any excuse for not submitting. This is a grand final, so imagine how anticlimactic it would be for the spectators to just see a person forfeit? So, in respect to me, the other judges, and the competitors, publish a blog within the deadline, even if it cannot be perfect.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That's all, folks! As always, if you have any questions, message @VOB96 or @ChocoCaramelPawn. Good luck and all the best to all bloggers!
