Team Matches

Good Evening everyone!

In light of the recent decline in numbers participating in the LRCA evening blitz event, I have asked for opinions on alternatives to try and attract more participants.

One suggestion has been a team event, whereby the Mighty LRCA team would come up against another team (not County) and play in a one-off team match.

I have had a verbal agreement from one team captain and a match has been agreed in principle (dependent on numbers) of two 15|10 matches - one with white pieces and one with black pieces - similar to the Harrod Cup. The match would possibly be on a Wednesday or Thursday evening and this team match would effectively replace the Monday blitz event for that week.

Initially, I would like to canvas members to see if any of you would be interested in this sort of event and furthermore, any suggestions on how the Monday evening event could be improved.
