The Sicilian Najdorf is a very aggressive opening choice and is highly recommended for those of you, who like tactical dynamic play and who like to play for a win from the get-go. The opening has been favored historically by such greats such as Bobby Fischer and Garry Kasparov, who was especially famous for how dangerous he was with the Najdorf variation. In more recent times, some of the world’s top ten have also embraced the Najdorf on a regular basis, for example GM Hikaru Nakamura and GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, have all played it on many occasions.

The Najdorf variation is the most popular Sicilian Defense. In addition to this, we are going to discuss the major options that white has on the sixth move, so that you get a little bit of a flavor for all the different variations that can take place in the Najdorf.
