Greetings Tournament Players! The 2020 chess season gets underway January 17-19 with the Victoria Open. Enjoy some classical chess in a relaxed setting, in one of Canada's most beautiful places. Register by December 17 for the EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT. All details courtesy of the tournament website:
When: January 17-19, 2020
Where: Comfort Inn and Suites, 3020 Blanshard Street, Victoria
Format: Five Round Swiss in two rating sections (U1600 and Premier); 90min+30sec time control
Prizes: Trophies and Guaranteed minimum $1,000 cash prizes: (Premier) $300/$200 and $100 (U1800 U1600) $200/$100 and $50 U1200 (Top Unrated) $50
Entry Fee: $50 up to and including Dec 17th, then $60 up to and including Jan 16th. $75 on site up to 5pm on Jan 17th. $10 family discount for 2nd and higher entries same family.
A valid CFC membership is required to play.
