Updates Going into the Weekend

Good afternoon and happy Friday!

As the week comes to a close, I want to update the club with some news!

First, more have been joining every day and this is exciting.  I am still working out details for the tournament based on these numbers.  At the time of this writing, there are 33 members in our club and even more have completed the form for the tournament.  Please make sure to go and complete the other form here if you have not already.  This is how I am tracking grade level and experience.

Second, regarding experience, this club is not just for the tournament.  Hopefully you have been able to explore the site a little bit and have seen the resources available.  If not, I recommend you click on "Learn" in your menu on the left and go to lessons.  There you can find everything from the very beginning levels of piece movement to advanced strategies and endgame tutorials.  Chess can be complex, but it is still a fun game!

Third, I encourage you to be playing games for practice!  You can play ranked or unranked games with other members of the group and it will be a chance to get some experience before the tournament.  Whether you are playing in the tournament or not, you can gain new skills and put them to the test!

Finally, I am very excited to be a part of this new adventure with all of you.  It makes me happy to see that there are so many that are interested in trying something new and/or being brave enough to join this forum across our school!  Please let me know if you have any questions and invite me to a game if you want to play!
