Victoria Open 2019

The first major BC chess event of 2019 will be the Victoria Open, held in beautiful Victoria, BC. As per tradition, there will also be a BC-Washington match in a battle for west coast chess supremacy. Details courtesy of the tournament website.

**$50 Early bird rate ends December 18**

Location:  Comfort Inn and Suites, 3020 Blanshard Street, Victoria

Format:  5 Round Swiss with Premier and U1500 sections; 90 min + 30 sec time control; playing up possible for a fee (if within 200 pts of section boundary)

Entry Fee:  $50 up to Dec 18th;  $60 up to Jan 17th;  $75 on site up to 5pm on Jan 18th;  free entry for GM/IM/WGM;  $10 per player family discount for multiple entries same family

A CFC membership is required to play. First-time tournament players are eligible to receive a free one-event membership with their registration fee.
