However, the matches should still be played to determine tiebreak points. The rosters of each team must be locked and the matches begun on Friday, October 09Obviously, different parts of the world are in different time zones, so there is no exact deadline for the matches to begin, just so long as it is around October 09

Please make sure you are challenging the official chess.com World League team for the opposing country. There are some teams which claim to be 'Team _____', but which aren't actually part of the World League. You can find links to all teams participating and their respective contacts here: WL - TEAM CONTACTS.

From the last Round, there have been some changes/improvements on the WL organisation and you should be aware of them and take any actions requested to ensure the good running of the League.

  • As already exposed in the last instruction post for ROUND 7, penalties would start applying from the last Round and onwards. That means that any player already participating with a different team in ROUND 7 and ROUND 8, will cause a penalty for both teams of -5 points to be applied over the final score. Unfortunately, there have been 2 teams involved already in a penalty in ROUND 7. Please check it here: INCIDENCE REPORTING
  • There is a warning list for teams failing repeteadly to the WL rules and directives. You can see it here: TEAMS WARNING STATUS and reflected above in the pairings. If any team is in that list, bear in mind that urgent action must be taken asap. Please check this list periodically and contact inmediatly with the WL organisers in case you see your team name there.
  • I strongly recommend all Team Leaders to read the TEAM LEADER GUIDELINES and WL - GENERAL RULES and keep informed your respective Team members consequently.
  • Reminder! you are requested to post a copy of the general rules on each Team Match Forum. (No teams did it in ROUND 7)
