Game 2 of the 2018 World Chess Championship match ended again, in a draw. But this time, the game was much quicker.

Carlsen played with the White pieces and Caruana with the Black pieces, and they opened the game with a Queen's Gambit Declined.

The Carlsen stare on Caruana's move 10...Rd8

The most interesting part of the game was when Caruana played Rd8 on move 10, which took Carlsen by surprise, as that move in such a position was termed 'unplayable' by many GMs.

The young American looking well prepared for Game 2

Fabiano's move Rd8 may have probably been part of his preparation, seeing that it has not been played by GMs a lot.

Nevertheless, in Game 2, it was Magnus who was defending his position being a pawn down and Caruana attacking, with their roles changed from Game 1.

Here's the game:-

After a quick three-hour game, the players agreed to a draw.

Game 3 will be played on 12 November, at 3pm London time (6pm in Kuwait), after a one-day rest on 11 November.
