Webinar 74. How to Attack and Defend on the Flank
Dear Chess Friends!
You know many chess players start the attack on the kingside immediately after they finish their development. Sometimes this plan makes sense, but very often doesn’t. How to realize that the position allows you to start the attack? The center indicates it.
When the center is closed with pawn chains or pawn structure is already defined there, the attack on the flank is the most logical plan. It can be either an attack on the enemy king or just an attack to gain some positional achievements on a certain side of the board.
However, if you decide to play on the flank, you should always remember several golden rules, such as “Don’t attack when the center is unstable!” or “Counter a flank attack playing in the center!” This is what I decided to cover on my next webinar!
I’m glad to welcome you to my next 74th webinar “How to Attack and Defend on the Flank” where you will learn how to successfully play when you are under the attack and what you should do in the center if you want to succeed with your flank attack!
Of course, everything will be illustrated by GMs’ games. The games played by top grandmasters I'm going to demonstrate at the webinar (and, of course, explain the ideas behind their moves):
- Konstantin Sakaev – Darius Ruzele
- Bobby Fischer – Vassily Smyslov
- Evgeny Bareev – Zbynek Hracek
Join the webinar, learn how to attack, defend and counter-attack in the center. I’m sure you will learn a lot and improve your chess performance!
The webinar starts on Sunday (21st of March) at 10 a.m. (EDT), 2 p.m. (GMT), 5 p.m. (Moscow time). This webinar is free.
NOTE! There will be no recording of this webinar available. If you want to learn how to counter-attack – register and come to the webinar LIVE!
