We're part of a league!
You're reading that right! This club is a proud participant of the Phoenix Chess League created by @WangSandy and @Ximoon, both amazing club owners and members of the site.
When I first heard of the league, I knew I'd love to join it. It had 4 different championships available, so I picked my favorite! I'll outline it quickly below.
It's open to everyone, so all ratings can join. There'll be a good 7 matches 2 weeks apart beginning on August 3rd, so be ready! Join the first match here, 5+ players are needed!
Here's the best part; the championship matches will be different openings!! The one at the moment is preset to the Caro-Kann Defense, and the rest will be as follows:
- Pirc Defense
- Vienna Game
- Queen's Indian Defense
- Grunfeld Defense
- London System
- Benoni Defense Modern Variation
I know there's no Italian Game at the moment, but I'll put in good word for next time 
Our opponent has already brought home an amazing turnout, and a strong initial showing will prep us for success and a place among the big players! Let's do this!
by the way, this isn't an attempt to make this club more "active". I have plenty on my plate so that won't be my goal here. But I've seen what you as members can do in team matches and I know that you guys (along with me) have wanted and deserved a spot in a real championship. So let's do this together!
