World Chess League Live begins this Sunday!
Did you know that in the 2020-21 season, the HCF Scholastic team finished in 15th place at 7-3 in the World Chess League? Our strongest K-12 players, led by State High School Champion Gabriel White, demolished the Italian team in the final round. That finish put them ahead of every major university in the league, including Harvard, Oxford, Edinburg, Aberdeen, Trinity, and University of Cape Town and many other colleges from England and Scotland. Not a shabby result for a team comprised mainly of the White family, the mighty Ching brothers, and all their chess friends.
Action begins again this Sunday at 8:30am when they take on Ampleforth College, the home of the league organizer Peter Hornsby. This match will be broadcast live, around the world on Twitch TV. If you would like to watch the games with Coach Nash and cheer your team on to victory with other HCF Scholastic players, please join the UPDATED Google Meet anytime between 8:15 and 9:30. If you would like to hear our players analyze their favorite game, plan to stay until 10:15am.
