World League - Exhibition Round!
Här lite aktuell info om World League:
Exhibition round
The exhibition (NOT counted towards the rankings) round of the Chess.com World League is ready to begin! It was decided to go ahead with the round essentially as planned, besides adjusting the matchups the slightly and lowering the minimum requirement to 5 players for all the matchups (Except for the <20 group, which will stay with 1-20 players).
This does not mean the format is now completely decided, but it is what we will stick with for at least this first round.
Vi kommer att möte Team Romania i den första rundan, och anmäl er därför gärna till den match som ni kvalificerar till.
The matchups:
Group B
Master division: 5-20 players
1601-2000: 15+ players
1201-2000: 15+ players
<1200: 5+ players
Team Ireland vs. Team USA Northwest
Team Turkey vs. Team Iran
Team Romania vs. Team Sweden
Team China vs. Team Brazil
Team Holland vs. Team Portugal
The instructions:
Any time between today (January 25) and Wednesday (January 28), all teams on the left-hand side as listed on the schedule must challenge their opponents in every rating division. If your team does not have enough players to participate in a certain division, you do not have to issue a challenge for that division. Once the challenges have been issued and the matches are open for sign-ups, participants have until Saturday (January 31) to sign up. The matches must all be started on that day.
Please use the following guidelines in creating each match:
Match Name: World League division, Exhibition Round: Country vs. Country
(Ex: World League 1601-2000, Exhibition Round: Canada vs. Italy)
Starting Position: Standard
Days per move: 3
Minimum players: (As stated in schedule)
Maximum players: (As stated in schedule. Not present except in master division.)
Concurrent games per opponent: 2
Rating: (As stated in schedule)
Auto-start: OFF
Rated: YES
---
Keep in mind that the Master division does NOT have any rating parameters. Players of any rating are theoretically able to participate in that division, but obviously only the highest-rated will make it in. A player may only compete in one division at a time. If someone is eligible for both the Master division and the next division down, they must choose only one.
Please make sure you are challenging the official chess.com World League team for the opposing country. There are some teams which claim to be 'Team _____', but which aren't actually part of the World League. If you aren't sure, ask the group leader. If you still aren't sure, post your concern here.
Before the matches have been locked and begun on Saturday, January 31, please record the number of members who signed up to play in the match. Not the number of members who actually got in, but the number that signed up. We need this information in order to schedule as accurately as possible the rest of the matches.
Above all, please remember this is only an exhibition round. If you are unhappy with your team's placement, or the format of the matchups, please don't worry about it. We will fix it in time for the actual first round.
If there are any more questions, or if your opponent is not following the guidelines listed above, or if there are any other troubles, please post them as a reply to this news article.
Good luck!
