توفي الغراند ماستر الأمريكي دانييل ناروديتسكي—اللاعب والمعلّق وصانع المحتوى والمعلّم والمؤلف—بشكلٍ مفاجئ يوم الأحد عن عمرٍ لم يتجاوز الثلاثين عامًا، وقد قوبل هذا الخبر بصدمةٍ وحزنٍ عميقين داخل مجتمع الشطرنج العالمي.

يُعَدّ ناروديتسكي، البالغ من العمر 29 عامًا، أحد أكثر لاعبي الولايات المتحدة موهبةً في الشطرنج منذ سنوات طويلة، حيث حصل على لقب غراند ماستر (أستاذ دولي كبير) عام 2013 وهو في الثامنة عشرة من عمره، وبلغ تصنيفه الأعلى 2647 في عام 2017.
حيث وازن ناروديتسكي في السنوات الأخيرة بين مسيرته الاحترافية في اللعب وبين صناعة المحتوى على منصات التواصل الإجتماعي، حيث حظي بشعبية واسعة عبر قناته على تويتش التي تضم نحو 340 ألف متابع، وقناته على يوتيوب التي يتابعها أكثر من 482 ألف مشترك.
لقد ساعدت الدروس التعليمية التي قام بنشرها عددًا لا يُحصى من اللاعبين على تطوير فهمهم للعبة الشطرنج، كما جعلته شخصيّته المرحة أحد أكثر سفراء عالم الشطرنج احترامًا وتقديرًا.
