The Fed is Second to Nunn

John Nunn was born April 25, 1955 in London. He won the British Under 14 Championship in 1967 and the London Under 18 Championship two years later. At, 15, he entered college, eventually becoming a doctor of mathematics. In 1975, Nunn was the European Junior Champion. In 1978, he became a grandmaster. In 1979, he was the British Champion. He won two individual gold medals in the Olympiads. In 1985, he was rated ninth in the world. Nunn twice won the World Chess Solving Championship and is a grandmaster in that realm. He is a well regarded chess writer and publisher. The following game, in an event Nunn won, shows him facing John Fedorowicz. Fedorowicz was born September 27, 1958 and became a grandmaster in 1986. In addition to winning tournaments in the United States and Europe, the Fed has engaged in chess writing and teaching.
