The International Chess Federation, or ICF, is the governing body of the sport of chess, and it regulates all international chess competitions. Founded in 2021 by JamesAckerman in Washington, D.C., USA, the ICF aims to bring chess players of all skills together in order to help develop and grow the sport of Chess online.
While headquartered in Washington, D.C., chess is a truly global sport. The International Chess Federation englobes 190 countries as affiliate members, in the form of National Chess Federations, and tournaments are held all over the world.
