TEAM SCOTLAND NEWS DECEMBER 2021

First news is we have a couple of new co ordinators as part of the admin team

so as of this newsletter we have

everything is coming along and the new season of tournaments will be be beginning shortly after the bells first week in Jan 2022

we will compete in all the tournaments from the 2021 season

1WL :- U1200,U1400 ,U1600 ,U1800 AND OPEN

WL :- open and chess 960 open

EL :-open-

now onto a review of 2021 tournaments

***** our 1200 and under won the 1200 tops tournament*****

our team in the TMI just missed out when getting to this unique 3 match under 1500, 1500-1800 and 1800 plus 3 header tournament being beaten 2-1 in the semis

World League with a few games left in a few matches we should finish 9th of 20

*

European League we are lying joint top but third on tiebreaker but still a few games left and it could be up to us beating Iceland by 3 games possibly 4 but it could be the same story in other matches

W.L. chess 960 :- we are sitting top a point clear but the team in second would go top on tiebreak if they beat Sweden as I think they will win their last 2 games ,we have games to play against them so if we win some more games against Bangladesh we should stay on top ...... all these remaining games are important

1WL OPEN :- We have finished 4 OF 8

1WL UNDER 1800:- We should finish 3 OF 10

1WL UNDER 1600 :- We are currently sitting joint top but second on tiebreak we have a few games left so winning them could help

1WL UNDER 1400 :- We are currently sitting pretty in 2nd of 9

1WL UNDER 1200:- We should finish joint 3 rd of 10

So overall it has been a fantastic season for us here

a great round of applause for all members who participated in our matches from the lowest of ratings through ranks to those at the top ......many thanks

and once again many thanks to the admins ,without loyal hard working admins we would not have what we have

on a more sombre note

we continue to have the odd unforced resignations in some of our games and they have cost us matches we also do have the people who timeout who do the same,just think about your team mates and admin team who spend time here ..... to the few .... cut it out and dont disappoint...We have also had the dreaded chucked out because they have broken the fair play rule ,do not use engines ,if we suspect a member of using we will report to chess.com
