Bishops of Bowser Chess Club

Bishops of Bowser was founded as a live chess club based in the village of Bowser on Vancouver Island in 2008.  Players met weekly at noon Sundays and then switching to Saturday.  The venue was initially the Bean Counter in Magnolia Court.  Then the Bowser Legion and for six years we met at Henry's Kitchen.  The club hosted an annual open, unrated tournament each August at the Legion Hall beginning in 2009 running until 2018.  The club maintained a web page at Bishops of Bowser Chess Club that is still active.  The Bishops of Bowser went into a hiatus in 2019 due to falling recruitment and declining participation.

Membership in this chess.com club is intended for recent and former members of the live chess club.  The Club is open to re-activation if sufficient interest is expressed and a suitable venue is available.  Inquiries about membership should be sent to Robert McFetridge
