Class And Tournament Schedule

We will be providing daily chess enrichment for students through the chess contender club here and the chess.com website. Please sign up at the website today for full details. Our schedule will be evolving as we work to accommodate all of our students and streamline everything. Right now we are in the testing and implementation phase so we appreciate your patience and your feedback.

Our weekly schedule will begin Monday March 30th, with our first online Chess Contender Tournament

Monday March 30 - Chess Contender Tournament :

Play in our fun and educational online tournament. Win or lose, we will improve because we will be learning and analyzing from our own mistakes.

9:30 am - Orientation

10:00 am - Tournament Begins 15 min games

Tuesday March 31 - Tournament Game Analysis Class

Don't forget to submit your tournament games for analysis to here so we can analyze it during Tuesdays class. The best mistakes to learn from are our own.

3:00 - 4:00 Tournament Game Review with Coach Tom

4:00 - 5:00 Tournament Game Review with Coach Dustin

Wednesday April 1 - Strategy Class Wednesday

Playing sound strategic moves gives you more opportunity to attack tactically and win. Strategy must be practiced though because it is not intuitive. Strategy class will focus on openings and endgames and will improve your chess greatly.

Thursday April 2 - Tactical Training Thursday

Learning tactics is necessary in chess to play offense and defense. Without understanding of tactics, strategies fall apart. Playing tactics well is very rewarding and some of the most fun moves to play. There are many tactics to learn and practice.

Friday April 3 - Famous Game Friday

On Friday we take some time to look at how some of the greatest chess players ever have won and lost. This level of play gives us something to aspire to, is very enjoyable, and opens up our minds to creative new possibilities.
