The annual online match"Nairobi vs Crewe" couldn't take place this year because players from Crewe were not available for the appointed day. Instead, Nairobi Chess Club (NCC) played an online match against a selection of English players who are members of the group "North Staff Knights" (NSK). Created only two years ago by Peter Hornsby and Andrew Crosby, NSK is very active on the Wolrd Chess League of chess.com

8 members of Nairobi Chess Club had the privilege to play in that overseas online match.

The event took place on Sunday, Mar.23rd, 6 pm -Kenya time-

All games were played online on lichess using a time control of 25 min + 10 s increment.

Pairings were arranged according to FIDE and ECF (English Chess Federation) ratings.

Every player played 2 games (B&W) against the same opponent.

The result of the match was 12-4 for Nairobi Chess Club.

The match evolved smoothly and all participants enjoyed the games and the cordial atmosphere between both clubs. Some participants are even veterans, having taken part in previous editions.

Unfortunately, NSK players on board 1 and 2 didn't show up and Nairobi won four points by default
