I. Core Values of the Foot Clan

Master Shredder wants you and all his Foot Soldiers to become full members of the Foot and earn the right to wear the Dragon Dōgi. And only these three core values will help you get there. Foot Soldiers who wish to wear the Dragon Dōgi must prove themselves worthy by participating in Foot Clan tournaments while demonstrating the three core values of effort, discipline, and loyalty.

Effort - Put your best effort into each game. Do not lose games on purpose just to participate, but think carefully about each move, in each game, for each tournament. You do not have to win all the tournaments you enter, or any. Master Shredder only wants to see you are making an honest effort.

Discipline - Practice self discipline by participating in as many Foot Clan tournaments as you can. Master Shredder understands not all Foot Soldiers can enter all tournaments because of different schedules. All he wants to see is regular participation on the days that you are available to play.

Loyalty - Be loyal, be positive, and do not betray. Any attempts to stir the pot or undermine the Foot Clan in any way will result in being exiled to Dimension X. Master Shredder generally has patience and is very understanding. But with troublemakers his patience is short, so don't test it.

II. The Foot Clan Creed

"Foot Clan Fight With Honor!" This creed means Foot Soldiers play chess honorably and honestly. During games, do not use engines or any other outside help. And do not insult opponents. We can only defeat Yoshi and his Turtles if we do so within the rules and guidelines set forth by Chess.com.

III. Earning Honors & Moving Up the Ranks

All Foot Soldiers start out as White Belts (Rank 1). After earning all Belts and reaching Rank 20, you earn the right to wear the Dragon Dōgi. A Dragon Dōgi who reaches Rank 30 becomes a Dragon Master (DM), and after Rank 40 a Foot Clan Master (FCM). Everyone at Master Level has defeated Master Shredder in at least one Foot Clan arena game. And each Master Level has 10 separate ranks called Dans. Rank 50 does exist but it is shrouded in mystery and shall remain so until the first FCM reaches it. Below is a list of all Ranks:

Those who demonstrate all three of the Foot Clan's core values, and play according to the Foot Clan Creed, generally will find themselves moving up the ranks. If you feel you are not climbing as fast as you would like, give it time. Your effort, discipline, and loyalty are not going unnoticed. The best thing to do is be patient. The worst thing to do is complain. Keep the Loyalty core value in mind.
