In a few weeks we’ll be joining a vote chess tournament and so for our group’s benefit I’m creating these rules.

1. You will receive a message from chess.com to say a new Vote Chess game has started and it will have a big button saying “go to the game”. Click on that and you’ll then see another button saying “JOIN”.

2. Once you have joined the game, if we are white, we’ll have 3 days to make our move - DO NOT VOTE YET - we will discuss what we want to play. This is where you guys come in. Talk to us, tell us your favourite openings, what works best for you, which openings you’re strongest with or have lots of experience with. If we are playing as black we can’t vote until it’s our turn. Then follow as above telling us your experience with black openings.

3. When we get to the 24 hour mark a VOTE NOW PLEASE call will be made. You are absolutely not to vote before this Vote Now call. That is how we lose games. You must also not vote for a move that hasn’t been mentioned. If you think your move is better than our suggestions then tell us. We can’t discuss a move if you don’t us why you think it’s your favourite.

* If you vote for a random move for a second time you’ll receive a final warning message and will include this forum link.
* third time you’ll be kicked out of the game.
