Hi Pawn Stormers.

So, we are going to start our first course on Chessable.

For the main study group (U12000 players)

We are going to do John Bartholomew's Endgame Bootcamp course. I have already started the course. I found the first chapter to be a good refresher on "opposition" and I learned something in Chapter 2 with identifying "Key Squares." The course breaks it down into "5 days" of work. I will award a knight for complete-token for completing each chapter.

For tactics, you may either do your Chess.com Tactics trainer (one pawn for every 20 correct) or you may do the Chessable Tournament Tactics: Tata Steel Chess 2020. There are 14 chapters and I will award one knight for each chapter.

For the Advanced Study Group

I have a request for Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual and 100 Endgames You Must Know by John Bartholomew. If you haven't chimed in yet, please me know if you have any preferences. I will place the order tomorrow evening.

Congratulations to our fellow Pawn Stormer at the Iowa Individual Play - Team Championships today. Wyatt and Stan wend 1-2 in the K-6 section as Coralville Central dominated the event. Niko took second in the Secondary Grades 7-12 section as NWJH won the team trophy.
