Rose City Game Library Scholastic Chess Club

KQChessClub | Apr 8, 2022
Hello everyone! It went well over at Rose City Game Library yesterday. I am going to start hosting a scholastic chess night for Henry County middle and high schoolers on Thursdays from 6pm to 7:30pm. Hopefully some of them will enjoy it enough to make their way over to our club at the Church and into our tournaments. March Madness Tournament Results

KQChessClub | Mar 13, 2022
Thank you to everyone who came out to our first tournament and supported the club! With the proceeds from the tournament, we will be able to purchase a couple new chess bags (finally can throw away those disgusting plastic bags), notation books for all the current club members, and a four-player chess set. Originally, we had planned to get pairing software, but we have a while to go before we get up to over 20 people per tournament. However, we had a decent turnout with 6 entrants. Lots of fu...

Highly recommend the Common Endgame Mistakes video by IM Eric Rosen and at least one of the opening videos. Can improve your play by at most 100 rating points.
