The start date is the 80th birthday of Christopher Timothy, who has been on our screens for 55 years. Born in Bala, Merionethshire, Wales and raised there apart from five years in Holland Park, London, was educated in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Went to the Central School of Speech & Drama and in the 60s was with Olivier in the National Theatre. Although he has regularly performed on stage, he is nationally famous through TV and of course most remembered for James Herriot in the original All Creatures Great and Small 1978-90, filmed in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales in locations such as Wensleydale, Swaledale, Coverdale, Leyburn, Richmond and Hawes. Has since featured in Doctors 2000-06, also as a director and writer, and Eastenders 2017-19 but in recent times has returned to animals with the narration of The Yorkshire Vet 2015-20. In later years has lived in Brighton, Sussex and now lives near Chichester, West Sussex. We believe a match should be held in celebration of his career and hope you will accept.
