Unusually young to have achieved such a high rank, Vaako was considered a fine commander, as dedicated as one could ask for and a superb solo fighter in his own right. Often, he is often chosen as one of the Lord Marshal's favored commanders to lead the Necromonger forces in planetary assaults.
