@kschreve, I'm not sure if it is divided by age but there's a monthly chess class being organized and weekly pickup game meetups (we have a 10 year old that plays regularly; he is pretty good though). You can find more information and receive better responses if you post your question in the Baton Rouge Chess Club Facebook group. That is where the BR chess community is most active as far as I know.

It looks like the chess club is going to resume meeting at the jones creek road library on Saturday at 10.

They do still go to coffee call on Wednesdays typically, I'm not sure if they're going this week, but I may go for a bit at around 6:30 to see if they're playing today.
