From a commercial point of view they're saying that the API & all the various activities we use it for add so little to the value of the site, in terms of extra profit, that it isn't worth the investment to maintain & develop.
Judging by the deteriorating performance of the API as a whole, I think that announcement was to be expected?
Just a few years ago the "Published-Data API" news article still forecast the rollout of a much more interactive API and now we're told they're planning not even to maintain what's there - great!
So after all the years of telling everyone how importrnt th rest API is we now know it's irrelevemt to Chess.com https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/public-api-status
@Backett25 this club isn't a support club but you're describing a regular disconnect. https://support.chess.com/en/articles/8584209-how-do-i-fix-my-disconnect-lag-issues
Почему иногда зависает время противника хотя я произвел ход в партии и после сразу заканчивается партия в его пользу,сколько раз так получается,с момента обновления игры,раньше такого не было
I don't think any new work is planned. I know in the past that it was decided not to do pagination and my understanding is that there's not sufficient development resources to do more than bug fixes at this time.
Is there any plan to update or complement some endpoints that's been restricted for perf reasons? I'm thinking of the past matches of a club (limited to 500 entries) and players of a country (limited to 10000). Maybe an indexing method as for the players archive could be used that wild not kill the perf but still give access to the data.
Can you pin the forum thread describing the public API please? It's disappeared from the updated club 'private description'. I'm hoping the API isn't going to be complete unsupported, many clubs and apps make a lot of use of this
