@leorodri81 I didn't mean to shut down the conversation, I just don't want to annoy people with a thousand alerts and clog up the notes. If you wish to amicably discuss it in PMs, I'm open to it. My wider point was that things are not black and white-I have briefly spoken to both pro and anti Communist Party Cubans, and there are undeniably both valid criticisms to be made as well as advances that have been made since 1959
I lived 30 years in Cuba, born and lived there, so im not going to argue about somthing you have no clue, and you think you know because somebody told you... Good day too!
@ivanm @leoridri81 I respect the beliefs you two have, so I'm not going to get into an argument here. All I shall say is that I know and have known other Latin Americans who spent significant time in Cuba, and they were truly impressed-and from everything I've been told and read, the average Cuban is much better off than the majority in the Global South by many metrics. I hope you both have a good day!
@Luchymane, I hope you can visit Cuba, soon, and spend some time with real Cuban People, and please, stop watching comunist shows. Unfortunatelly, lots of people from all over the world, think like you, but thats not the truth. People in Cuba are poor, and unhappy, and Hopeless.
Luchymane dejame decirte que la mayoria del pueblo cubano no desea vivir bajo la bota comunista solo quien no ha sufrido los horrores del socialismo lo encuentra romantico e inspirador
Hello, as you can guess from my profile pic I admire the Cuban people and what they have accomplished despite a crushing embargo. I do not know any Cubans, but I would like to join your group, and learn from you both as chess players and as Cubans!
