Hey everybody! Will anybody be at the US Open being held in Grand Rapids next week? I am planning to play in the G15;d5 rapid side event on Wednesday the second. It starts at noon with registration during the morning. If anyone is planning to be there, I’d love to meet up and maybe play some skittles matches!

I am belong to a club that meets at the Portage Senior Center every Tuesday from 2 to 4. There are some other clubs as mentioned in earlier posts.

Hey everyone. My name is Spencer. I grew up in Schoolcraft and recently moved back to the Kalamazoo area after graduating college. Would love to get to know some chess enthusiasts in the local area! I read about the Waterstreet meetups and will try to make it in the coming weeks if those meetups are still happening.

Welcome Pickleball! The only activity in the Kalamazoo chess scene I'm aware of is the club mentioned by ronwest911 a few posts down.
I miss the club that used to meet at Arby's. I was something like 27 at the time, and by far the youngest guy there.

So, the location in Plainwell didn't check out. Maybe they'll get it going in the future. I'm hoping I can attend the Water Street Kalamazoo location near the end of the month though. Thanks for the update.

The Sunday club still meets from 3-5 at the Centre Street location of Water Street Coffee. Just berifird this with Tim McGrew who runs the club.

This club appears to be inactive... But, there is a place in Plainwell called Around the Board, which has weekly Thursday chess 6 to 10 pm. I'm planning on attending this week to check it out.
