Hi Dom, just spotted this discussion by chance.i think it's a good idea and would be up for it. I suspect most mrmbers won't see this so i can circulate something on email over the weekend. Social nights are a greay way to encourage new members.

If we get the numbers, we could _probably_ organise a club night in the Church where we play matches. Then we have access to boards + timers, etc.

I wonder then how best to proceed. Matches are usually tuesday or thursday but I know several players play in other leagues so have busier schedules. Could try for a monthly pub meetup - probably weatherspoons in town has a good amount of space. Would need some boards and timers and enough folks to turn up (I guess at least 2!). I could find out what a quiet night is for spoons and just try that.
Might at least get myself and Lee (and "Rustyone"). Anyone else up for casual meetup?

Teams generally get together for matches only and no casual club nights. Though if we can gather some interest, some social chess could be possible. I'd definitely be up for some pub chess of an evening. (most LB club members play for several other teams in different leagues and get plenty of OTB chess)
