If anyone is still alive in this group listen up! I have put together a night of chess and beer at the Turtle Anarchy Brewing Compnay in Franklin, TN. It starts at 7:00 this Thursday Nov 21st. An email was sent out by the Nashville Chess Center to 700 people. We will be lucky if we get 8 or 10. It is a local brewery, no food, great tables for chess,play blitz,slow whatever(bring sets/clocks).The beer is $4.50 to $5.25 and is great(in my opinion) It is located at 216 Noah Dr. Franklin,TN, across

Alright! Got my bullet rating over 2000 for the 1st time. I found out something rather strange. I'm not playing better! I'm not kidding. It must be a psychological thing. When I got to about 1900 my opponents started dropping pieces, trying to move too fast, giving up, etc. I never realized that the mindset of a person due to rating could be so powerful. I have gained about 100 rating points just because my opponents EXPECT to lose to me now when I play them, fascinating.

Yeah!! Everyone rejoice with me, I have tried for months to get my Bullet chess rating on this site over 1800 and I've finally done it. My way to success was simply to play fewer games at once so I could have full concentration on each game I played. The problem I had before of losing lots of rating points in a single session went away, and I started going Up, UP, UUPPP!

Had a good tournament at the senior open on Crossville. 3.5 ot of 5. first place in under 1400 - beat a 1640 player and drew a 1800 plus at the end (He offered and I think I had a win there too but I wanted to get home!) First tourny in several years.

Welcome Greg! Also, I wanted to note that the people on this site need to learn their html better. For work reasons, I upgraded to IE8 and it is having problems like Google's Chrome browser. This is not a browser problem, it is the site not being written to the new specs. Oh well, after all it is FREE!
