Certainly! That's half my motivation in getting this set up -- we have an eports team doing their thing, and then a separate group of people doing rec center tournaments, and we may as well unite these under one common banner. Students, staff, faculty, alum, community members, etc., the more the merrier.
I was thinkng more so something online. Being summer, I know a lot of people go back home. Being online would also be ideal since our competitions also occur online. When it comes to timeframes, I was going to discuss with the team on when they would be best available.
Cool! Do you have a sense of what sort of timeframes make most sense? The rec center used to run tournaments on like Thursday evenings for an hour, but I know the NACE league was Saturday mornings.
I planned on hosting tournaments through here over the summer. I'd love to have some help with that. Also yes, I think this would be a good place to consolidate them.
There are currently several different UM-Flint chess groups on chess.com, and yet another on lichess. Would anyone be interested in consolidating them here and/or hosting some periodic tournaments over the Summer? I'm happy to help organize if so (or let others do it!)
