Chess pieces back on board7/05/2008 THE Macquarie Street Mall giant chess pieces are back. Liverpool Council on Monday delivered new pieces, to replace the old ones. Council believes the old pieces may have been stolen as a prank by youngsters. As a result, for weeks now Liverpool's chess players and there's plenty of them have still been turning up to the mall to play chess but they've had to bring along their own chess boards. There is a giant chess set  in Burwood Park Address: Burwood Road Burwood  (Directly across from Burwood Westfields) The giant chess set is available for use from around 7am-4pm Monday to Friday) Ther are normally quite a number of opponents to play at the park. Also available are chess boards (however you would need to bring your chess pieces) There are many interesting players to play against with the top few players around the 1700-2000 ACF mark.
