This is the welcome message that I've sent to newbies.

Hi {NEWBIE_NAME},

Thanks for joining the Great British Empire!

We are an active club in both daily club matches and vote chess.

We kindly ask three things -

First, we expect club members to play for the club. Ideally once a month at least, but more if you can. A list of club matches can be found here.

Second, please don't time out in club matches. This is costly to the club because it's an unnecessary loss of a valuable point. Otherwise win, lose or draw we don't mind.

Third, we also ask that you do not turn off club alerts for this club, as we need to keep in contact with you. You will find the club alerts section on our home page.

If you like to discuss strategies and tactics with fellow chess players and learn from one another, you can also join the vote chess games here. Personally this has helped me to improve my chess.

If you use the app, a recent update now allows access to clubs. You just need to find 'clubs' in the menu and then click on the one you want to go to, in our case it's The Great British Empire of course.

If you need help navigating around, please do not hesitate to ask. Also feel free to say hello and chat with fellow members of the club here - we are a lovely bunch.
