There is no main difference. One is not "better" than the other. It's all about preference. Although, I am bias towards dogs bc I have two, and I'm allergic to cats, but if I wasn't, then we'd probably have some cats... if it wasn't for our dogs killing the ones that invade our house... but off of that.

People enjoy dogs as companions that will never leave.

MYTH: people claim dogs are "slaves". Their behavior indicated that they are not slaves, but VERY loyal to their owners, unlike cats.

People mainly (I'm assuming) love cats for the reason that they are there and don't need very much help surviving.

It's all a matter of preference and which person needs what.

Some people don't have too much time on their hands, but want a pet, therefore, a cat would be good for them, or some short-haired dog. People with not much to do who want a pet to devote time to, dogs would be good for them, or an indoor cat that is very dependent.
