Their career victories include wins against Team Europe (474.5-335.5), Team Russia (210-1900) and NM Aww-Rats Free Video Lessons (232.5-178.5).

3. Team Armenia (1255) Moving from 7th to 3rd place in the rankings are the former middleweight champions, Team Armenia, who are having a great year in 2014. 4. Team Germany (1199) Sitting in equal second place in this year's World League, and outright second in the European League competition, are Team Germany. Right now they are leading Team England 361-288, and had a close 353-341 win over Team Russia in last year's World League season.

5. Team Russia (1391) Team Russia are on the verge of turning the tables on Team Germany, currently winning their 2014 World League match 328-314. Team Russia have also had recent wins against Team England (458.5-328.5) and Team Romania (322.5-250.5).

6. Team England (1031) Team England are the 2013 World and European League Champions! The hangover has started, however, with 2014 World League losses to Team Germany (288-361) and Team Russia (328.5-458.5).

7. NM Aww-Rats Free Video Lessons (7929) The NM Aww-Rats Free Video Lessons group continues to impress. After a 240-192 victory against Romeo and Juliet, they had a massive 273-103 win over heavyweight newcomers Carpe Diem.

10. Chess Team Holland (1302) Chess Team Holland made their heavyweight debut earlier this year with a 261-384 European League loss to Team Germany. They then bounced back with a close 288.5-271.5 win against the formidable Team Romania.

They are worthy title recipients, having held the number 2 rank in the middleweight division for the past 12 months. This year's highlights include wins against Team Slovakia (228-206) and Srbija Tim (166-134).

2. Team USA (1116) Team USA only fought 3 times at middleweight, before stepping up to the heavyweight division, where they are now ranked 11th. Their best result was a very impressive 207.5-122.5 victory over Team Ukraine.

3. Team Ukraine (488) Team Ukraine are pushing for the Chess.com middleweight title with a recent 202.5-156.5 Euro League win against Team Romania. 4. Zenit St.Petersburg (185) Zenit St. Petersburg earned their number 4 rank by defeating FC Dynamo Kyiv 108.5-93.5 in the final round of last year's Champions League, taking out the 2013 title. http://chessleagues.com/2013/chl/

5. FC Dynamo Kyiv (423) Coming in at number 5 are FC Dynamo Kyiv whose only encounter at middlewight was the 93.5-108.5 loss to Zenit St.Petersburg in the Champions League.

Team Slovakia (715) Team Slovakia are the 2013 second division World and European League Champions. http://www.chess.com/news/wl2013-div-b---team-slovakia-champions-4846 In this year's World League Division A competition, Team Slovakia have notched up a win against Srbija Tim (171-145) and are looking good against Team Iran (127-118).

7. Srbija Tim (462) Srbija Tim finished second behind Team Slovakia in last year's World League Division B competition and have earned the right to fight it out in Division A for the 2014 season. Their highlights of the year are a 180.5-135.5 win against Team Iran and a 158-90 Euro League victory over Team Poland.

8. Team Iran (863) Team Iran are making their first appearance in the middleweight division after a 135-112 Asian League victory against Team Turkey.

9. Team Poland (415) Team Poland are up from 11th to 9th position in the middleweight rankings after an impressive 145.5-77.5 Euro League victory against Team Croatia.

10. The Chess Club (394) The Chess Club acheived their top 10 ranking with an impressive 141.5-85.5 win against Carpe Diem. Four months ago The Chess Club had 627 members. They are now down to 394 members so qualify for the lightweight division, where their 92-41 victory against Team International has already earned them the 14th ranking.

2. Zenit St.Petersburg (185) The former lightweight champions, Zenit St.Petersburg, are sitting in 2nd place on the Champions League ladder, having lost to FC Dynamo Kyiv (83-87).

3. Srbija Tim (462) Srbija Tim are making their first appearance in the lightweight division after dropping their weight and convincingly defeating Team Poland 158-90 in this year's Euro League. 4. Team Indonesia (475) Team Indonesia moved ahead of Team Poland in the lighweight rankings after narrowly defeating their World League Division B rivals 84-71. They also had a convincing 74.5-51.5 Asian League victory against Team Azerbaijan.

5. Team Poland (415) Team Poland bounced back from earlier losses to Srbija Tim and Team Indonesia with a very strong 145.5-77.5 Euro League victory against Team Croatia. Ranked 9th in the middleweights, Team Poland have proved they are worthy contenders in both divisions.

6. Team Croatia (449) Team Croatia have joined Srbija Tim and The Chess Club in making the transition from the middleweight division down to the lightweights. Their first lightweight encounter was the 77.5-145.5 loss to Team Poland. Right now they are playing Srbija Tim in a match that will see them rise in both the lightweight and middleweight rankings if they can get the win.

7. Advanced Theoretical Discussion Group (285) ATDG's best result to date has been a very impressive 48-19 win against Team Romania. 8. Team Tabriz (322) Coming in at number 8 are Team Tabriz, whose highlights include a narrow 96-94 victory against heavyweight contenders Team Russia, aswell as wins against Team Australia (93.5-46.5) and Team Greece (67.5-38.5).

9. Team Azerbaijan (458) Team Azerbaijan achieved the number 9 rank after a very close 79-77 win against Team Bulgaria in the second round of this year's World League competition. They followed that up with a 69-55 victory over Team Slovenija.

10. Team Bulgaria /Съединението прави силата/ (560) Team Bulgaria just keep going from strength to strength. In 2013 they finshed 2nd in Division D of the World League competition. Right now they are in 2nd place in Division C, and look likely to progress to Division B for the 2015 season.
