I have some advices that I've learned from far better players than myself and that I would like to share with you. Also I have quite some experience myself, but that´s not equally important xD

These few advices will really make you strong in no time! (If you havent used them before)

1. To take is a mistake!

Never take unless you are absolutely sure that you have to, or that you will gain from it.To learn how to keep up the tension will in itself make you a stronger player. When you master this, THEN you may take to make play easier, but before you are very good you will not know when you can do this safely.

2. Follow opening priciples!

3. Don´t defend all the time! Counter-attack if possible!

Instead of defending a position when your opponent is making a threat, look for a counter attack. Most players defend alot in their games. But they do not know, that "Offense is the best defense!" .

This is sometimes hard, but often easy. Try to look forward and see if the position/piece even needs to be defended.

HOW to practise:

1. Strategy and endgames are priority number one until 1600 rating, or if you havent studied them already.Tactics are important but should not be focused on too early.

- Yes, but I don´t like endgames! Openings are more fun!

- For every 5 opening you learn, I learn only ONE new thing in endgames and win you nonetheless! Focus on late endgames.

2. Don´t play against the computer unless youre rested and ready to go.

3. Keep tension! Do not strive for a simple position if it doesn´t benefit you.

4. Play chess with these ideas in mind.
